Conservation Burial Efforts in Michigan

Cemeteries supporting natural burial are often broken down into a hierarchy of ecological benefit. Conservation cemeteries are the highest tier, giving back the most to our living world. They involve a partnership with a conservation organization, a management plan utilizing best practices, and a perpetual protection of the site though a deed restriction or conservation easement. You can read more about this and other tiers of natural burial on our natural burial page.

There is not yet a Conservation Burial Ground in the state of Michigan. But there are some ongoing efforts woking to establish them.
